My Background
In the late 90’s I began experimenting in Adobe Photoshop and Corel’s Paintshop Pro
creating digital artwork as a hobby and began experimenting with programming simple
games and MS Access Applications whilst dabbling with primitive web design.
My education followed a more traditional route of Fine Art & Design and for a time I was set on becoming a fine artist and illustrator.
But my obsession with digital media prompted me to embrace New Media so I decided to study BA Hons Interactive Multimedia at
Lincoln University. I studied a range of skills and software including Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Flash, typography, future trends,
new media, advertising and web design. I graduated from Lincoln University with a First Class Honors degree in BA Hons Interactive Multimedia.
After graduating from Lincoln University I was head hunted by a leading PR & Marketing agency in Hull called Two Heads Design, here I was employed as a Multimedia Designer and later promoted to Studio Manager. My role at Two Heads Design was to handle all of the New Media aspects of design projects including, web design, flash design, CD presentation and email newsletters.
I worked closely with the team of graphic designers and freelance developers and was responsible for the organisation of the studio in my role as Studio Manager.
I then moved on to another award winning PR & Marketing Agency based in Beverley called TAS Communications to further develop my career and skills. During my time here I was trained in PHP & MySQL programming, and worked on a number of private and public sector websites including the NHS, BP, HullKR, Hull Train, Business Week, Sewell Group, Centrica and many more projects.
In 2008 I made the decision to become a full time freelancer. I now spend my time designing and programming interesting websites as well as research and implementing new technologies and web trends.
